Built and Sculpted Clay
by Christopher Maschinot, USA

Christopher Maschinot creates expressive and symbolic ceramic vessels and furnishings using representational forms. Leaves and faces comingle with bold geometric patterns sculpted in high relief. The artist’s deeply textured surfaces are often encrusted with rich patterns and color.

The imagery the artist explores is drawn from his personal experiences but speaks to broad cultural motifs including regeneration, social bonds, and celebration of nature. With each new series Christopher’s new symbolic imagery to his lexicon.
